What double conversion means
In a double-conversion UPS, incoming AC power is converted to DC, then converted back to AC before reaching the connected equipment. The inverter supplies the load during normal operation, rather than waiting to take over only when utility power fails.
Because the inverter is already active, this topology typically avoids a transfer interval when the input source is lost. The exact behavior still depends on the UPS design, operating mode, bypass arrangement, and the conditions that caused the changeover.
